General Overview

As a member of the NSPG Executive Team and reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, the Executive Director of Clinical Practice collaborates with senior team colleagues, site leadership partners, strategic partners, and enterprise colleagues in the development and implementation of both enterprise and group wide strategies that support the delivery of exceptional ambulatory medical care across the MGB system.

Responsibilities

An opportunity for an experienced RN, the Executive Driector role leads teams of nurses, medical assistants, nutrition professionals, and other clinical support staff in the use of Lean tools, focusing on innovative patient care with consistent standards across 30+ locations - all while driving best in class outcomes in our team-based care environment.

Understanding NSPG's business model, industry and marketplace, the Executive Director of Clinical Practice demonstrates the ability to assess complex situations, diagnose clinical practice problems, and determine the appropriate course of action to enhance the effectiveness of the organization in alignment with core values. In addition, the Executive Director of Clinical Practice shares responsiblity for developing and managing new, innovative programmatic and service line offerings to patients.

Scope

The scope of oversight and influence includes but is not limited to:

  • Leadership of NSPG Nursing and medical assistants in collaboration with Site Leadership
  • Progressive ambulatory nursing models which promote top of license/skill set performance
  • Clinical support staff development and integration in a team based care environment
  • Clinical staff protocols, standard work, education and training
  • After Hours Call Program co-leadership
  • Anticoagulation management services
  • Diabetes education and self management for patients
  • COVID service line support: testing, vaccination, treatment/therapies, infection control support
  • Point of Care Testing
  • Infusion Therapy

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Minimum BSN required
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing or other related

Licensure

  • Required: Massachusetts RN licensure
  • Preferred: NP

Experience

  • Required: Minimum of 10 years of progressive health care leadership and clinical experience required. This should be inclusive of clinical service line expertise, staff education and training, patient education, patient care model design, quality, safety, process improvement, customer service and financial/bugetary accountability with demonstrated solid performance leading large teams of HCW
  • Preferred: The ideal candidate will possess significant ambulatory experience in a large multi specialty group setting and will be familiar with team based care models that optimize top of skill/license performance to ensure high value patient care at all points of service. Experience with point of care diagnostic testing, anti coagulation management and COVID outpatient care are a plus. Although NSPG will provide educatin and training in Toyote Lean/NS Productin System management, prior experience using lean tools is optimal.
